This fight will be won in the courtroom - democracy through legal action. Below are some hardworking and amazing people and organizations that I have found who help explain what is happening in the chaos. Please let me know if you know of a must have law resource that I have missed.
LEEJA MILLER
Leeja is a real life lawyer on a mission to demystify the law and how it affects your everyday life.
I found Leeja while trying to make sense out of all the threats being hurled about. What did they mean? Were they even legal? Enter Leeja. Click on her picture to go to her website.
DEMOCRACY FORWARD
Democracy Forward advances democracy and social progress through litigation, policy and public education, and regulatory engagement.
Democracy Forward created the Legal Response Center (Democracy2025.org) committed to disrupting any efforts by the administration to attack our rights, freedoms, and democracy through legal action in courtrooms and communities across the country.
HEATHER COX RICHARDSON
Heather is an author and history professor interested in the contrast between image and reality in American politics.
"I believe in American democracy, despite its frequent failures," she says.
Heather is an expert on American History and Democracy. You can catch her on Substack, wherever you get your podcasts, and on YouTube (click her picture to go to her channel).
BRENNAN CENTER FOR JUSTICE
The Brennan Center is a nonpartisan law and policy institute, striving to uphold the values of democracy.
I was introduced to the Brennan Center while fighting voter intimidation in my hometown. They have been incredible and embody the fact that justice and democracy do not discriminate (including against political party).
The recommendations below are in no way an exhaustive list but include books about Christian Nationalism, Democracy, and other happenings in the US political landscape. If you have a resource that is not listed, let me know with the link below and I will review and add if it is in alignment.

No resource page would be complete without links! The links below are things that have added to my knowledge and awareness of this fight, including information about Executive Orders in 2025. They are active as of the time I add them to this list. I am not responsible for the operation of or information in these links. Let me know if you have a site you would to add.
Links to information about Executive Orders and local and state bills. I am based in Texas, so the state information will focus in that area when available.
The Daily Journal of the United States Government
GovTrack.us - a full website of all bills and resolution. You can sign up for alerts on the issues that mean the most to you.
Congress.gov - a full website that hosts video for both the House and Senate as well as a database for research.
Texas Legislature Online - look up bills and resolutions, search by author and subject and more.
Hate seems to be everywhere in these times. Here are a couple of links I have found to stay informed.
The Southern Poverty Law Center, a fierce advocate for social justice, monitors hate through the United States.
The Trevor Project, an advocate for and help to the LGBTQ+ community is monitoring conversion therapy (the attempt to change a person's LGBTQ+ identity). Maps, reporting and more.
ADL (Anti Defamation League) H.E.A.T. Map™ (Hate, Extremism, Antisemitism, Terrorism) is the first-of-its-kind interactive and customizable map detailing specific incidents of hate, extremism, antisemitism and terrorism by state and nationwide.
The Constitution of the United States says, in the first amendment, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." These links show where this separation is attempting to be (or has been) broken.
Bible school within the educational school day. There must be 50 people in your community that sign on to begin the program process. The program is "voluntary" but I have my doubts. Look up your area and see if the process has started. I was shocked to find that my town was listed and had 8 signatures.
At the time this link was referenced, an EO Number could not be found. This Executive Order seeks to create Christianity as the religion of the country, a violation of the Constitution.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) strives to safeguard the First Amendment’s guarantee of religious liberty by ensuring that laws and governmental practices neither promote religion nor interfere with its free exercise.
The world is changing very quickly. A lot of things are being thrown at us at once. This can lead to overwhelm, frustration, burnout and possibly breakdown. Please take care of yourself. These links may be helpful. Please let me know if there are others that have helped you.
This is a very good Substack article that give syptoms of and solutions to outrage burnout. If you are feeling some type of way, please read.
The LGBTQ+ community has been hit hard by the new administration's attacks. I urge you to get support and seek like minded people to hold you up during this time. The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) has some great resources.
